Talent in Cameroon

Ladies and Gentlemen, before i begin, i will love to hear you say you agree with me that there is Talent in Africa!

For as long as i am here, we are going to focus on what is working around us.

Over the weekend, i attended an event in Bamenda organised by KiRette Couture. This is a clothing line owned by two Cameroonian Girls, Kibonen based in New York and Arette based in London. It was one of the most phenomenal events i have ever been to in my entire life! i can assure you, that is just the beginning, because things can only get better.

At this event, there were three other outstanding designers, all Cameroonians one of them based in Nigeria, and the other two of them in Cameroon. In these designers i saw patience, determination, style, purpose, attitude, endurance, love...

There were four Cameroonian music artists, three of whom had released albums already in the market, and one of them just won an African award. These musicians were talented, their songs had messages that went straight home, as the melody thrilled the crowd and kept their spectators on their toes gasping from endless screams! they all had talent, style, vision, purpose, patience...

Have you ever heard of Visual Art? there was another young Cameroonian at the event who took care of the visual art, his pictures in time will make the position of the very talented MC redundant, and in my opinion, his style is very inclusive, as in, you don't have to hear what is said to be in the loop of the evenings event - you see where i am coming from? This guy has style, attitude, talent, patience, a very big dreamer, vision...

The Models most of whom have never walked a run way, stood tall as they showed off their God given nature to the instructions of a professional model, Cameroonian based in New York, who at this moment is in a top ten contest for the sexiest man in the world... these models have will, determination, style, attitude, purpose...

This event was totally sponsored by MTN Cameroon, STV Cameroon, friends and family to Kibonen and Arette, and from it i saw a nation growing. I could identify partnerships, support, opportunities, plans for the future, relationships...

In a few exclusive interviews i conducted, the general feel was that of overwhelm, as the guests used words like magnificent, best, huge, classy, enormous, wonderful, great... to express their thoughts of the evening.
